Shawn Singleton is a former journalist and photographer with nearly a quarter-century of experience in the media before embarking on a career in public relations. 

Mr. Singleton was born and raised in Florence, S.C., about an hour from Columbia, the state capital. He currently lives in Timmonsville, S.C., a small rural area 10 miles from Florence.

To Mr. Singleton, public relations is a natural progression from reporting. After nearly a quarter-century of wrting for cummunity newspapers in South Carolina, Florida, Tennessee, Missouri and Illinois. During that time, he made ties in those communities in the business and sports sectors. Those connections and media experience have fueled his interest in public relations.

A graduate of the University of South Carolina (GO COCKS!) and United States Marine Corps veteran, he has used his experience to cover crime, business, investigations, and sports.

Mr. Singleton is currently a student at Full Sail University, earning his master’s degree in public relations

In his spare time, Mr. Singleton volunteers with disabled and homeless veterans, listens to jazz, and studies the history of sports, particularly baseball and pro football.
